Rear disc brake conversion <-- New

ok Im gonna start this post with a list of the some of the parts you need.Please keep this post to a min for Im gonna post alot of pics on here and dont want a 9 page pile of nothingness......Also Im doing this now before I agree to a contract with L.C. Engineering that way I cant be held responsible.
First you need to get cailipers and brakes from a 79 monte carlo...no emergency brake.
Next 84-86 (I think) Mustang SVO rotors.
Then get a proptioning valve from a early model toyota pickup,its the one that goes under the master cylinder,this is what helps the brakes work correctly.This was on the lower grade toyota trucks,the ones with the towing packages came with the one under the bed.
Now Ill dig out some of my older pics so I cant post on what you have to notch and cut off your axle.
Also look on ebay there is a guy selling the disc brake conversion for a 4x4 toyota.....order just the bracket from him or anywhere you can find one......hench someone out there finds a spot to order these post it up,Ill stay ontop of it too....

2. Mustang SVO rotors, Front or rear? ( I dont even know if these cars were 4 wheel disc, but i wanted to ask.)
3. Cut and notch axle- I am assuming this is refering to the drum brake backing plate?
4. Proportioning valve, Do you have a Toyota part #?

2. Mustang SVO rotors, Front or rear? ( I dont even know if these cars were 4 wheel disc, but i wanted to ask.) Rear discs, yes, they ran from 84-86, and can be had on eBay new for around $60 shipped
3. Cut and notch axle- I am assuming this is refering to the drum brake backing plate? I would assume that the drum backing plate wil be ditched
4. Proportioning valve, Do you have a Toyota part #? This proportioning valve came stock on 79-83, and some 84 and 85 1/2 ton 2WD trucks, you could also use an adjustable proportioning valve which is around $50 from Summit

becarefull, the kit from downeyoffroad is for the 4x4, all you need is the brackets to bolt the calipers on and use rodney's method for the 2wd. ive seen this first hand on his truck and helped him find parts for this. his kit does work and work nicely.

Okay, I got all my parts today. I got the rear rotors. Get Pronto Rotors. They're $15 each. Loaded calipers are $65 each unless you have a core. Then they're $50. I got the flexible line for the calipers too they're like $20 for both, and a couple bucks for the bolts with the holes in them for the fluid to run through.

And you will need a master cylinder from a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser, 4-wheel disc, non-ABS. They bolt right up to the factory booster. Be careful with these though, because retail is $280. Maybe check ebay for a remanufactured one.

I have spent a total of $200 so far with my cost at work. I'm going ot make my own brackets. I'll post pictures if I get to it before Rodney and his friend.

They do....there is a guy on ebay I have been talking to that makes these that I orgianlly got and didnt read the add and they were suppose to be for 6 lug yota...Ill get his name he was selling them real cheap and already powder coated
